Project Alert: Route 9 in Hillsboro is Now Closed    |   VIEW DETOURS >

The Hillsboro Safe Drinking Water Project, Phase 1-A, is rapidly nearing completion! Currently, disinfection and pressure testing of the new main is underway and the service lateral installations included in Phase 1-A are being finished. The remaining work also includes complex tie-ins, preparations and final asphalt patching on Rt. 9 (Charles Town Pike) along with paving of Highwater Road.

The connection of the new water source to the Water Treatment Plant and the existing water main will occur soon. This is an exciting milestone for the Town of Hillsboro after decades of work by many to find a solution to the public health issue afflicting all Town water customers. While we will be bringing the new water source on line, the Town’s water will still be delivered through the old water main, which is prone to leaks. This main will be replaced during the road project. The Town will remain under the Boil Water Notice until it is lifted by the Virginia Department of Health.

Cheers!, Salud!, ‘A ta santé’!, Salut!, Nostrovia!, Prost!, Yamas!, Na Zdrowie!, Felicidades!
